Physical Therapist
Mya was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where she played competitive club soccer with Oregon Surf ECNL throughout her youth career. Her passion for sports rehabilitation grew from her own experiences as an athlete. During high school, she endured multiple significant injuries, including three ACL tears and two meniscus surgeries, giving her firsthand insight into the physical and emotional challenges of recovery and returning to sport.
Despite these setbacks, Mya went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences while competing as a Division I soccer player at Portland State University.
Mya continued her education in Oregon, eventually earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Western University of Health Sciences, where her independent doctoral research examined the relationship between psychological readiness and eccentric landing impulse rates following ACL reconstruction.
Mya strives to create an environment where patients feel supported, empowered, and capable of achieving their goals, with a strong emphasis on the mental support side of physical injuries.
