An East Coast native, Melissa McBride grew up in Northern Virginia and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, she was a personal trainer and strength coach for over six years, working with everyone from weekend warriors to professional athletes. Later, she went on to receive her doctorate of physical therapy from Elon University in North Carolina. She currently holds her Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Level 1 Olympic lifting Performance Coach Certification through United States of America Weightlifting.
Growing up, Melissa was very active playing softball and running track. After battling her own knee injuries with running, she became drawn to the field of physical therapy and helping others overcome their own injuries. She is passionate about coming alongside her patients to get stronger, feel better, and learn how they can improve their overall health through a physically active lifestyle. When she is not helping patients, she enjoys going on runs with her cattle dog, and spending time outdoors with her husband and daughter hiking, mountain biking, and attending Sacramento Republic games.
